Our Story
wandesnowc began in 2012 with a simple observation: despite Australia's strong literary culture, many people felt disconnected from reading. Work pressures, digital distractions, and a lack of guidance left countless potential readers without a clear path forward.
Our founder, having spent fifteen years in literature education, recognised that the traditional approaches to reading promotion were failing. People did not need more reading lists or lectures about the importance of books. They needed practical support, genuine community, and services tailored to their real lives.
What We Believe
Reading is not merely a leisure activity. It shapes how we think, expands our understanding of others, and provides a counterbalance to the constant noise of modern life. Yet we also believe that reading should bring joy, not obligation.
This belief guides everything we do. We design our services to remove friction, not add pressure. Whether helping a busy executive find time to read or guiding a retiree toward new genres, we prioritise enjoyment alongside growth.
Our mission is simple: help more Australians experience the profound benefits of regular, engaged reading.
Our Approach
We reject one-size-fits-all solutions. Every reader comes to us with different backgrounds, goals, and constraints. A university student preparing for postgraduate study has different needs than a parent wanting to model reading for their children.
Our team takes time to understand each person's situation before recommending services. Sometimes that means a structured programme. Other times, it means pointing someone toward our community events where they can find their own path organically.
Our Team
Our staff includes literature graduates, former librarians, educators, and self-taught book lovers. What unites us is genuine enthusiasm for connecting people with books and the patience to meet readers where they are.
We invest heavily in ongoing professional development. Reading science evolves constantly, and we stay current with research on comprehension, retention, and the psychology of reading habits. This knowledge informs our programmes without overwhelming participants with theory.
Community Impact
Since our founding, we have worked with over twelve thousand Australians. We have seen careers transformed by improved reading efficiency. We have watched isolated individuals find lasting friendships through our book clubs. We have helped parents raise children who love stories.
These outcomes drive us forward. Every person who rediscovers reading reinforces our belief in this work's importance.
